曼彻斯特大学：
曼彻斯特大学（The University of Manchester），始建于1824年，是位于英国第二繁华城市曼彻斯特的世界著名综合研究型大学，英国老牌名校，英国著名的六所红砖大学之一，英国常春藤联盟罗素大学集团创始成员之一，是英国最大的单一校址大学，历年最高世界排名为世界第26名 。

如今的曼彻斯特大学由曼彻斯特维多利亚大学（Victoria University of Manchester）和曼彻斯特理工大学（UMIST）合并而成。
